Recognising and specifically treating PMOS.

PMOS – Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome, formerly known as PCOS – affects 5–20% of women and is one of the main causes of irregular cycles and difficulty conceiving. Typical symptoms such as infrequent menstrual bleeding, increased body hair or skin blemishes can indicate PMOS, although not all symptoms have to occur at the same time. At the Wunschbaby Institut Feichtinger we rely on precise diagnostics, including ultrasound and hormone analyses, to identify the underlying causes. Building on this, our experienced specialists develop an individual treatment plan that includes both medical and lifestyle-related measures to promote egg maturation and ovulation. You can read more about the condition on our page PMOS (formerly PCO syndrome).

Dr. Alena Pichler

PMOS – still known to many as PCOS – is one of the most common hormonal disorders in women and can make the wish for a child considerably more difficult. With our holistic approach, which combines modern medicine with lifestyle advice, we support you in regulating your cycle and promoting your fertility. Together we will find the right solution for your path to your longed-for child.

Dr. Alena Pichler Head of the Department of PMOS & Hormonal Disorders
Our approach

From mild stimulation to assisted reproduction.

Our treatment approaches range from supporting egg maturation with targeted medication or mild stimulation to assisted reproduction if additional factors such as reduced semen quality or blocked fallopian tubes are present. Especially with PMOS patients, we attach great importance to holistic care: lifestyle factors such as nutrition and exercise play a central role, as they can have a positive influence on the symptoms. Our specially developed hormone treatments for egg cell stimulation are tailored to the needs of PMOS patients and maximise the chances of a successful pregnancy, while at the same time minimising the risks of overstimulation.

Your care

Individual advice, interdisciplinary team.

We know that PMOS can be stressful not only physically but also emotionally. That is why we take sufficient time for individual advice and support at the Wunschbaby Institut Feichtinger. Our interdisciplinary team works closely with other departments, such as genetics or the Department of Endometriosis, in order to treat even complex cases comprehensively. Together with you, we develop a plan that promotes your fertility and improves your quality of life.
