What led you to reproductive medicine?
"Even during my medical studies, hormones and their complex interactions fascinated me. Reproductive medicine combines scientific precision with humanity – here I can practise medicine at the highest level while accompanying people through a very emotional phase of their lives."
What does the wish for a child mean to you personally?
"I know the question 'What if it doesn't work for me?' – it has occupied me personally. Experiences in my close personal circle made me aware of this topic early on, and at the same time I was fascinated by the possibilities medicine offers to help these couples. An unfulfilled wish for a child is never just a medical case – it is always a matter of the heart as well."
What brought you to Austria?
"Love! I am married to a wonderful Austrian and left the Rhineland for him – hence my very Austrian surname. Now I am delighted to be building my new professional home here – in a team that works with competence, passion and heart."
What do you particularly appreciate about your work?
"That it challenges both head and heart. I get to apply modern medicine at the highest scientific level – while accompanying people with empathy, patience and honesty. Every positive pregnancy test is, for me, a small triumph of medicine and of hope."
What motivates you personally?
"Among my friends and family, I know many women with an unfulfilled wish for a child. Their stories have touched me deeply – and strengthened my passion for supporting couples on their path to their longed-for child with experience, knowledge and a lot of heart."
What do you hope for during your time at the clinic?
"An atmosphere in which patients feel medically in the best of hands and, at the same time, understood as human beings. For me, the two are inseparable: medicine at the highest level – with a lot of heart."
