For generations we have been accompanying couples with an unfulfilled desire to have a child. In doing so, we take responsibility for the generations to come – because the babies born thanks to us should be able to lead fulfilled lives in a green environment. That is why we are on the path to becoming a climate-neutral institute.
What we have already achieved for the climate.
Reducing plastic materials
We have already saved over 4,000 items of plastic material with a total weight of more than 200 kg and replaced them with high-quality, climate-friendly reusable materials. The amount saved on gynaecological instruments alone would stretch around a football pitch four times.
Recyclable instead of disposable
We have replaced the plastic cups for coffee and refreshments in our waiting area with recyclable alternatives – to further reduce our plastic consumption while offering an environmentally friendly option.
Solar energy and air-source heat
We are currently installing a high-performance solar array on the roof of our institute to meet our energy needs even more sustainably. In future, environmentally friendly air-source heat pumps will heat and cool efficiently and with low emissions. These measures further reduce our CO₂ output and actively contribute to a climate-positive future.
Public transport, bike and electric car
Our team members take responsibility every day, consciously choosing public transport, bicycles and electric cars for their commute. This reduces emissions and directly improves the air quality in our city.
Online meetings
We have moved the exchange between our institutes in Vienna and Baden – such as the weekly doctors’ meeting – to online meetings. We also offer patients with a longer journey the option of holding appointments online whenever physical attendance is not required.
Rigorous waste separation
We attach great importance to careful waste separation in order to maximise the recycling of materials. Every area of our institute – from the offices to the laboratories – is equipped with dedicated waste separation stations.
Reforestation with GROW MY TREE
In cooperation with GROW MY TREE, we plant a tree for every baby born with our help. A single tree can store up to 100 kg of CO₂ over its lifetime and produce around 117 kg of oxygen. More than 2.5 million trees have already been planted through our cooperation partner – supporting smallholder farmers and the local economy at the same time.
Recognised by the Ministry of Climate Protection
With our investment in environmentally friendly heat pump technology, we save 14.4 tonnes of CO₂ every year. For this we were recognised by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Climate Protection – for the future of our children.
